This winter has been long and hard and even here in the swiss middleland he brought us plenty of snow. On this particular moring in februrary of this year I actually want to go take photos in the region of Bienne and I was already on my way but the more I drove westward the less snow there was. So I decided to go back and visit a familiar place and a favorite photo location in my area - Burgaeschisee, a small pond near the town of Solothurn. And I'm glad I did.

Nicely composed Bill, I think you've got the angle of the jetty spot on. Nice colour and light too.

Gary.

This is beautiful, Bill. I really like your comp and the light, colors and mood are just wonderful. Really nice work. I'm just going to sit here for a bit and enjoy looking at the large version! A perfect M&N scene.

Excellent colors and comp here Bill. I really like the mood that is created by the subtle light and the fog.

I have a question for you about the Nikkor 16-35 f/4 lens. I'm using this lens on my D800 and I find it to be incredibly soft in the corners even at f/11-16. I end up needing to do DOF blends almost every time I touch the lens! Looking at your image here, it appears to be sharp throughout the scene. Have you noticed any problems with your lens? I'm starting to think I may have a defective lens....

Beautiful. This shows why it's good to go back to places that are familiar. You just need to be there when things are right. Good light, good composition, and great subject. This is lovely! :toast:

@Scott, thanks for your feedbacks. No, I don't have any problems with that lens using it on my D700 but I can imagine that there might be some problems using it on a D800. I'm going to get myself a D800 in the next two months and I think I am also going to buy the 14-24/f2.8 as well. most of my photographers friend shooting with the D800 using the 14-24/f2.8, 24-7072.8 and the 70-200/f2.8. As far as the D700 the lens really works well....but I can't tell you how the lens works on the D800. As soon as I have used it on my D800 (when I have bought it), I will inform you about my experiences.

Beautiful love the blue solitude that the scene conveys along with the flecks of pink to add a touch of visual excitement.
