snowcapped

This is NOT an art type capture, but I wanted to share detail of this snow covered pronghorn. Look at LARGER SIZE to see a six pointed snow crystal floating on the eye!

I framed the original capture with the snowy backline on the lower left 1/3 line...and did not really care for the overall effect. This is cropped to give you a closer view of the above mentioned details and represents about 60% of the frame.

The one looks so soft and sweet yet full of mischief as well. What a lovely winter capture! Those eyelashes and expressive eyes make this image a treasure!

Sometimes it is, what it is.... And this wonderful close-up has a pastel quality that seems very artistic to my eye. The light is perfect, the snow is the icing, that curious and alert expression is the highlight of this photo for me.

A Beauty Lon!!!

Nice portrait Lon. You really handled the lighting and the bright snow well. Great DOF and detail. I also like your center placement of the eye. Very nice

Very cute subject Lon, accentuated by the nice soft snow accumulating on the head. Those are some impressive eyelashes. Don't see many nice portrait images of this species posted here. Compositionally this works very well as is, but as this is cropped, might look at a bit more room on the right side and the bottom. My reasoning is that the main mass of the head is skewed to the right side of the frame presently and he/she is looking out of the frame therefore. Hey, just a thought. I wish we had these guys around here!

This is so cool (pun intended). I remember reading the the antelope's coat is very well insulated because the hair are hollow. I love the fine details colors and composition.
