Out the back door

March 29, 2013 This Dark-eyed Junco was in the green-belt behind my home in the back bay Newport Beach, California. My 600 was delivered yesterday and I was trying it out before I leave at 4:00AM tomorrow to photograph in Borrego Springs with two other NPN members. I have never seen Dark-eyed Junco here before.

Very nice. Color is natural. Good detail/sharpness. Good exposure with detail in the black feathers.

Sharp details and I like the framing Patrick.
Nicely exposed - Lets those great colors come through in true form

I especially like the small seed-n-beak, well done & Happy Easter!

Looks like your new combo of D800 and 600mm is going to serve you well. There is excellent detail here. I like the seed in the beak. Good eye contact and rich color.

Excellent shot Patrick. Great details/sharpness. Love the catch light and a seed in the mouth is a bonus.
