Tower Power II & Re-Post

First, thanks for the comments on my last Towers image. I think this shot addresses some of the problems with the last, and has become my favorite of the two. The reflection is not as jumbled, and the rocks are not as chaotic. I think the lighting, while not as strong as the first, places more of the emphasis on the towers and less on the near rock face. This is slightly to the left of the previous shot.

Your thoughts appreciated.

nice image. I think it might be stronger if you pushed the contrast a bit.

I like Gary's suggestion of a bit more contrast, but the shaded rock face does allow the towers to shine as the main subject imo. Love it! :toast:

Thanks folks - I will try the added contrast suggestion, though on my monitor and looking at the histogram it appears to have a descent amount of contrast.

Thanks

This is quite beautiful and I prefer it to your other image. It doesn't seem to be common to get decent images from here due to the weather, so 'Congratulations!'.
On my calibrated monitor, it appears that the shadowed areas were pulled up a bit too much leaving no true blacks. A stiff contrast adjustment would be an asset, IMO.

I like this comp a lot more than your previous post Harry. I am on the fence on the contrast adjustment but I do think the blacks need just a slight push. Fantastic scene overall.

It seems the consensus is for more contrast - Here is the updated version & I agree it is an improvement.
Thanks

Really beautiful scene you have captured Harry. I love the light on the peaks and I think it looks even better in the re-post

In terms of composition, I prefer this one to your previous post.

I am also on the fence on the contrast. At first glance the repost looks better to me. I then look at both versions a few more times and found I actually prefer the original.

IMHO I feel the ULC is a little bit bright comparing to the rest of the image.

What a gorgeous shot, with so much going on. But your eyes keep going up to the towers, which are mysterious looking and just stunning. I think the contrast overall is fine, but I might try to darken the towers and clouds just a tad. Still, a really stunning shot.

Harry, I prefer this image to the other for the same reasons you stated. I feel though that the towers in the original are too bright and could also use some contrast.
