Edward, you captured the detail very well, including the "hair" on the perch. You didn't mention the light situation, but I like the bit of mystery of the light fading into the dark at the tail.

Thanks for the comment Ralph! The lighting was late afternoon sun, diffused by light overcast. Conditions I'd been waiting for for some time.

Yes, besides the open beak, all I noticed was that nice light! Good detail in the feathers too.
