Coastal Range Sunrise

This is a view looking east from Nanaimo of the coast range of mainland BC. Whistler area would be in the middle back range area and Gibsons in the front darker area. Usually there is a lot of haze produced by Vancouver[which is to the right of this image] but this morning there was just a trace. A quite intense sunrise with little wind and not much tidal movement.

The intensity of the sky is nicely balanced by the rocks and midground water. Excellent composition and a beautiful image

Very nice colors. The tonal difference between the lower and upper portion is not a natural one, but it is still very pleasing. Kinda reminiscent of the slide film days. Galen Rowell made a good living off of this style, and justifiably so.
