Loading gear in the boat for an outing when this guy swooped down and plucked this catfish out of the river not more than 30 feet from us. I managed to fire off a few shots as the event unfolded. This was the best one however, the subject was in the far upper right of the frame with the right wing clipped and no room in front or above. Started playing with art effects to try and save the image, this is the results. Camera hand held from dock, cropped to 25% of full frame

Too bad the wing was clipped in your original, but this is an interesting play Mike. It conveys the impression of a flurry of motion.

Interesting idea, Mike, and nice grab capture of a fast moving subject. After spending some time looking and thinking, I wonder about "lightening" the overlayed birds, especially the wing in the llc to give a clearer look at more of the right wing and reduce the crowding of the head on the center subject.

Very creative composite and title Mike, it fits.
This must be what it's like at O'hare Airport when you're trying to get a cab
Great entry, well done :wavey:

Well, I wouldn't be crabby at all to get a Pick for this great idea for a save of a very lucky and opportune shot, Mike! Well done.

I kinda wonder what a classic vignette would look like…
