Nice Image John. I can almost smell the essence from here. I like the detail, color and the comp. Well done.

Hi John

The larger photo really shows the detail. I like the way the moisture particles within the onion glisten like tiny crystals.

Excellent!

Never thought of this one and I like it. It's open to interpretation.

Amazing shot, John! Very nice comp of this onion slice, showing the layers with all their interesting lines, and the contrasting center. The flash helps add some nice sparkly highlights to this image and also adds to the beautiful colors and shadings. Very cool abstract. . .and all from an onion. Well done. :toast:

John, I've come back to this image several times before commenting - I like it a lot! Glad you went with the vertical presentation.

While I find my self cropping a bit from the top (just enough to break that top ring and have the darker tone along the edge of the image), I love the form, colours, and concept. Well seen and executed :toast:

I am seeing alternately an infant in its womb and an agate that has been sawn in half. Then I realize that it is an onion and it brings tears to my eyes. Now I want a hamburger. Excellent entry.
