Spilled Paint

Home from my magical tour of the SW. Guess Mother Nature saved winter for me. Nothing but snow since I returned. At least I don't mind staying inside to process files from my trip. This is from the Paint Pots at Lake Mead NRA. I was impressed by the volcanic debris cascading down onto these multi-colored hills. I spent a couple of evenings near this location. I think this is the most elegant of my compositions. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for looking.

Elegant indeed! Beautiful, color palate. Understated, but sublime. I think not overdoing the contrast here is also really helpful. I would hang this on my wall in a second.

I really like the higher POV or overall perspective on this one, Nancy. The composition works well with the higher ridge line in the BG leading right down towards the lower foothills and valley areas. Colors work nicely as presented with lower contrast, but it might be worth experimenting with a bit more contrast for another look IMO. Regardless, an impressive capture as it is presented here.

Really like the detail and natural color Nancy, and you couldn't have done a better job with the composition. Beautiful work.

Gorgeous subtle gradations of texture and color. Almost a pointilistic feel.

The pastel warm colors work beautifully for this desert landscape, Nancy. This is a very beautifully done abstract landscape.

Looks like an aerial photo - very abstract works well here. Neat colors, sounds like a fantastic trip. Maybe bump up the contrast globally?

The salmon and grey tones of the diagonals are real nice. The two roads in the LLC are the only mar in this fine image.

This is great work for me, Nancy. I do like the subtlety in your abstract as well as your careful treatment of colors. Your composition leads me through the whole image in a pleasant way and the shapes and lines work most interestingly together for me.

I like it Nancy--very nice abstract! I agree with Harry--a tad more contrast ovrerall would help.
