Rock Art-Ancient or Contemporary?

I was asked if the rock art was ancient or contemporary. The petroglyphs at Three Rivers, dating back to between about 900 and 1400 AD, were created by Jornada Mogollon people. Read the complete story at http://www.blm.gov/nm/st/en/prog/recreation/las_cruces/three_rivers.html

I was going to post this in the Weekly Challenge last week but I forgot. On the way back from Bosque del Apache we stopped by the Three Rivers Petroglyph B.L.M Recreation Site located just west of Ruidoso. There was over 21,000 of the rock art in this area and it's located next to a BLM camp ground. The wind was really blowing the day we were there, and it was difficult setting up the tripod among all the rocks. I would like to return to this interesting site.

See how many different designs are depicted in this post.

Any comment welcomed.

Very interesting. Is this rock art really old or contemporary? The sky nicely complements the yellows and browns.
