Sense of scale

What an incredibly slow week it is so far in this gallery; the last 4 posts are from only two individuals!

Regular visitors to this site may know that I like silhouette images. This is because of their graphic character which is great for artistic abstract images. This is one from last year; a rather simple, yet successful silhouette image (in the sense that I sold it twice recently anyway, but maybe you feel differently:razz:)

Elephants (Loxodonta africana)
Chobe National Park, Botswana
Camera Model Canon EOS-5D Mark II
Shutter Speed 1/320 Sec.
Aperture Value f/11
ISO Speed 400
Lens EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM @ 24mm
Full frame
From small boat

I love this one Vincent. The way it flows from bottom to top (or vice versa) is terrific. The colours are nice and rich and the image is timeless. I can see why people would want to buy it. I'm sure it looks even better without your watermark.

This is Awesome Vincent  Not only are the silhouettes of each elephant expressive, that colorful sky is explosive, and the sun-rays coming through the clouds is the icing on the cake.

A Beautiful Photo Edge to Edge!!!

Fantastically seen - when I saw the image I actually thought it was a Marsel Van Oosten as this is similar to his style - but upon closer inspection this is classic Vincent! I like the varied trunk positions and of course the dramatic light in the back. You used the zoom of this lens perfectly

Descending size of the elephants into the dark portion of the image add tremendous depth for a silhouette approach. One of your best! :toast:

One of your more memorable recent images, IMO, Vincent. I like the wide variety of colors in the sky, and the placement of the elephants is great.

Great drama in this image because of the sky.

I love this, Vince. The colour in the sky just rocks along with the elephants being dwarfed by Big Sky Africa... :toast:
