The Camas is starting to bloom on our prairies. Soon they'll be a sea of blue, but right now it's the individuals that attract attention. I was out Tuesday morning before a volunteer work party and captured a few that I'd like to share.

5Diii, 180mm f3.5 macro, tripod, f22, 1/13, iso 500, Av mode with no compensation. Processed in CS6. Sharpened using Topaz detail. Cropped to about 10MP. Taken on a foggy morning at 8:15 am.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Don't know the Topaz sharpener, Dennis, but I'm impressed ! You've done a great job with the detail and the light in the droplets ( did you use a polariser ? ), and the bg has a nice graded quality to it. Lovely image.

Great look, especially with the water drops on the flowers and how they're mimicked in the background.

No polarizer, Ian. Just a foggy morning with filtered sun. The Topaz detail software is fairly new to me, but I'm liking it for the ability to really customize the effects. It splits the image into levels of detail (small medium and large) and lets you work on each of them separately. You can also work on highlights or shadows independently, which really lets you make water drops pop.

Quiet, subdued color, with perfect DOF. With the water drops, creates a nice meditative and peaceful picture. Very pleasing, Dennis!

What can I say, Dennis? Spectacular! Can't wait to come down and try this myself. The processing really does pop the drops-- really amazing detail!
