Neighborhood Cormorant

I took this photo on a recent trip to Wakodahatchee Wetlands. This Double-crested Cormorant was quite content on the railing of the boardwalk and had no intentions of moving - so I figured it would be a good time to try and test out a portrait with my WA lens. I was trying to convey a sense of how close you can get to the animals here - the composition isn't perfect as the bird is centered and the sky is featureless but I more or less achieved what I wanted to.

Nikon D7100 14-24mm f4 @ 24mm HH w/CPL filter
f/6.3
1/400s
ISO 1000
-.33 EC

No noise reduction, minor crop and sharpening in LR4 and CS5 on 27" iMac

Luke, I would like to see some people larger in the frame, to help emphasize how close people can get to the bird.
