PA in Springtime

We've had a very cold Spring here, as was the case on this morning. The a.m. sun though created a nice scenic of this group of deer feeding along a shoreline. From a distance.

D90, ISO-400, 1/400th, f-6.3, 500mm, manual. Larger posted, thanks for your thoughts.

A great time to be out taking photographs Bill. Nice subtle colours but the deer are spread out and only occupy a small part of the frame. I think if it was mine Id be tempted to lose a bit of the foreground.

A lovely serene scene you have captured here Bill. I do not mind the subjects being small in the frame at all, moreover since there are multiple subjects. Although I like the blue as a colour to brighten up the scene, I do feel this would have been better traded for more room on top; that is without knowing what is above the top frame edge of course.

HI Bill,

I like critterscapes, and this is a very nice and visually-pleasing overall scene. It took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on with the deer on the far right (the one with the head obscured but white at the hind end showing), but that's not a complaint.

You know, I think this scene would work better for me if you lost (cropped out) the band of blue-reflecting water on the bottom. To me it's a bit "disharmonious" and upsets the nice complimenting palette of colours that would be there without it.

Just my 2 cents worth...
