Blue Poppy

The blue poppies were out at Longwood last month. Amazing colors enhanced by a minimal fractalius filter. Otherwise a straight image taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens with 500D filter for macro.

Comments always welcomed.

Beautiful Patricia, the "minimal fractalius filter" is just the ticket!
Nicely composed, and I like the way the lines/veins of each petal 'flow'.
And the few bits of pollen I see add nicely as well.
Have a great weekend! :wavey:

Beautiful shot Patricia, I really love it! I don't know what a fractalius filter is, but I guess that's what gives the image a painted look. When I saw it small I thought it was a yellow aspen leaf frozen into ice. Very well done.

This is great. The gentle combination of colors, flow lines, and the distortion of the fractalius filter blend really nicely. Very well done!

U got a winner ...by any measure! Glad to see this...Johnny-Come-Lately. THe grainy look is terrific, I never would have guessed...but such a delicate and fragile mood works so well with the superb lighting and shadows. WOW! Congrats on WP.
