Taken with my Nikon D-300 With my Nikon 80-400 mm zoom lens. 1/1000 @ f 5.3 ISO 200 Focal Length 230mm. This was taken at Malibu California near Malibu Lagoon.

Whites look good and fairly sharp -- but needs room at the top -- looks like the egret is ducking to stay in the picture

This is an interesting pose. This image feels like it is over processed. I don't know what was done to the image, but the overall feel with the feathers, the water color, and the gray/whites feels off. At this size it looks over sharpened.

Nice detail, William and a great pose. The colors look a bit off to me. Beautiful shadows on the Egret.

This is what happened when I changed the original from a Tieff to a Jpeg. The water is supposed to be blue, sorry, I will repost it again tonight! I agree, to me it looks awful.

I'd guess you aren't mapped to RGB. In Photoshop, Edit > Convert to Profile and select RGB. If it were mine, I'd start over. A little less tight a crop, some care with the colors and considerably less sharpening. The usual pose will, I think, make it worth the effort.

I think the repost looks MUCH better. I think you could push the exposure up just a bit as you have some room without loosing the whites.
