Gardens at the Getty

I visited the Getty Museum in LA awhile back and afterwards went out to the gardens. One section had a whole collection of succulents that I found appealing. I was with my girlfriend and her daughter so I didn't have time to play around, basically shoot and run, but I came away with 6 or 7 shots I was happy with. I created a series of images all cropped to a square format and wanted to run them by y'all for critique. I don't know the name, I looked online for a bit but couldn't find anything so if anybody can give me an identification that would be great.

Canon 5DII, 17-40L @ 40mm, f/11, 1/80 sec., ISO 200, handheld

Very need shapes and excellent dof, Scott. I like the imperfections in the leaves.

I like it very much—except for the large imperfection. Easily cloned out.

I like the color, the comp & the square crop works well. It's a bit of a bummer about the large hole in the leaf however as I find it a bit distracting.

Hi scott :wavey : I like how you composed and captured the geometric symmetry of those lines on the bloom. the light and color are also well done

Thank you everyone for your comments! I was going back and forth over the hole in the one 'leaf' and it was interesting each of you commented on it. I think I may try and clone it out just to see how it looks. I'm also thinking, as posted, it looks a little dark and I will try to brighten it a bit.

Bold and very effective framing, Scott ! Love the square format for this plant. Might personally clone one or two of the imperfections, but that's a personal preference.
