I have never seen this behaviour before, but we had a good storm in the night!

We were parked in water watching Wild Dog and Hyena interacting at the time hence the settings for fast shutter. Taken in Kwando, Northern Botswana.

This is around 25% of full frame, unfortunate positioning of the branch

Just looked at the large version and noticed that the BG has gone completely haywire, this was downsized and converted via Save for Web, does anybody have any idea why the colours have changed so dramatically between the large and small versions?

Ken, the BG looks no different on the larger version on my monitor. No problem there.

Nice pose, drying its wings perhaps? No problem on my monitor either. The branch does not disturb me because the bird takes over the frame nicely. :toast:

Color looks the same in both versions to me as well, Ken. I do wish the web supported a wider color gamut-it's always shifting the sky slightly. The branch doesn't bother me, either. Nice pose and composition.

Ken: Very nice image with the unfortunate branch causing a distraction. Oh well. I looked at your larger version and you do not have an embedded color profile. That will cause a color issue and is dependent on browser what the result might be. When you save for web, be sure you check the box to "Embed Color Profile" and convert to sRGB. That will ensure the most consistent colors.

Ken,
This is an excellent look at this young fellow, the large version is a 'Must See'.
Well Done . . . :toast:

Great post, held pretty well with the crop.

That has to be one of the strangest poses I have seen. He looks like one of those old men with a curved back with his head sticking forward like it is. Nice capture Ken.

I see a big difference in color. I never use the "save for web" option. The large version seems very nice.

Thanks everybody your comments which are much appreciated. The colour differences are most certainly caused by my failure to embed the profile.
