Clear the runway!

Caught this one a tad late and the background is far from great but I found the situation quite funny. I decided to keep the two water splashes instead of cropping for the bird. Please give your opinion.

Claude, I think the crop is spot on. The water splashes contribute to the overall image. Perhaps though they are too bright compared with the bird and one's eye is drawn to the splashes straight away. This is largely because the bird merges in with the background leaving the water splashes as the standout.

Nice composition, Claude. I like the splashes. I agree with martin on the bird blending into the bg, but that's what it's evolved for. The bird does look a touch soft, which doesn't help make it pop.

Nice action shot. I like the wing position and the foot in the back with the water splashing off it. I agree with your decision to leave in the water splashes. I feel like if I didn't see them I'd be missing part of the action.

Excellent comp! The splashes are as important to the story as the bird, and need to be there. Nice low POV.
