Taken last spring,two males started fighting in front of the camera!


techs: 1/400s, f/8, ISO 1000 with 600mm f/4 on D300. Cropped at about 75% of FF.

I like the birds stance, great details Claude.
Good comp - I especially like the complimentary color of the leaves, they match the birds crest nicely.

This is a great looking bird, nice markings and color. I didn't think the frequented the west coast of No. America but in checking see they range up into Canada and even eastern WA. I love the pose and as mentionedthe habitat trees and leaves add to the image. Very nice capture Claude.
