Hidden Cascades

After discovering these cascades while exploring off trail in the Columbia River Gorge, I scrambled down a wet vertical slope to the mossy bank of the creek. I was amazed to find such a tranquil scene tucked away from regular visitors. There must be thousands of places like this, undiscovered gems existing subcutaneously from human perception; and they will continue to exist whether any hominid traveler stumbles upon them or not.

The angled flow of the stream works very well and the greens glow nicely as is so typical of this area. Your view creates a fine sense of depth. The falls area could use a bit more contrast to better show of the water movement and may be slightly blown, but since I'm viewing on an uncalibrated laptop I can't be sure about that.

Great shot man and well worth the effort! :toast:

Yes, there are literally over 100 waterfalls in the Gorge (many undocumented and some yet found)! I too have been spending a lot of time out here finding new ones lately. It is tough work (tons of bush whacking, poison oak, dangerous river wading or rafting or Kayaking, rappelling and climbing) but so rewarding! Be careful out there.

All Gorge folks: the weather has been uniquely warm and sunny lately and the Gorge is almost starting to go into its prime.

Lovely mood and a few techs would be helpful to all. :wavey:
Heading to Oregon in a week and looking forward to some of these mysteries. :toast:

The greens are fantastic as is the diagonal flow of the water, Joe. My only suggestion would be a bit more detail in the highlights of the waterfall. They look a little blown out on my monitor.
