C. Yellowthroat

Spent a couple of vacation days at the Hook this week....nice to stay over to catch the early morning light without having to get up so early! Lots of these little guys there now...trying to catch them in the open is a favorite challenge of mine.
50d, 500mm w/1.4, Iso 200, F6.3, 1/1250 LARGER version also posted...and Thank You for your critiques/comments.

Jack..."The Hook" is a National Wildlife Refuge on the Delaware Bay in DE known as Bombay Hook NWR. It is one of the largest marshland expanses here in the mid-east, and I love it there in all seasons. (Except for maybe summer, when the flies and mosquitos will eat you alive without Deet!!) It has a very long wildlife drive and walking trails with access from both to ponds and saltwater marshes, grasslands and forest. It sits adjacent to prime Delaware farmland, which also helps draw in the birds. It is immaculately maintained ....kudos to their staff!
Well worth a stop if you are nearby! Here's the link for anyone interested.
