I found this Jack-in-the-Pulpit in bloom on Saturday. Early morning light provide the color pop on this particular flower. Pentax K10d, Sigma 180mm f3.5 macro at f16, natural light....................Jim

Nice composition and the flower really does pop. To my eye, the bg brightness competes a bit with the flower. I think I'd take a stab at dimming it a bit.

Jim, I like the subject and overall composition. As already mentioned, maybe just a slight bit of a turn down on the amount of highlight. Beyond that it works very nicely overall.

Jim:
Must be nice to find this in the wild. The JITP looks great with accompanying leaves.

Other than the fore mentioned BG brightness Jim, I am really enjoying this portrait. Well seen and captured.

Agree with the previous posts. I really like the comp here and maybe just bringing the levels down on the entire image will help a bit. A polarizing filter would also help eliminate the glare off the leaves.
