On The Hunt

We came across this little fellow in the interior of Yellowstone a few months back, he had just skirted a herd of Bison and was obviously on the prowl for voles and mice.

As always, comments, suggestions and critique always welcome.

Tech stuff: Canon 1D4,EF 500mm f4L IS USM, 1.4x TC, f/11, 1/1600 ISO 500. Manual, spot metering.

I like the way the snowy scene tells the story of the fox out tracking and searching for his next meal.

Rick, I agree with Don that is a very natural looking image. You also had lovely light. The image also holds a bit of tension IMO since you know he might pounce anytime. Judging from the larger version it looks like the subject is a tad soft. Perhaps this is merely a jpeg sharpening issue, but as presented it would benefit from some selective sharpening.
