Love the action and interaction Ken. Have said it before, but three subjects is a great number to work with. I really like the standing dog on the right side, that bit of interest makes the photo for me.

The shooting angle is perhaps a bit high and therefore some of the intimacy with the subjects may be lost. Some body is going to have to come up with a low-rider concept for African safari photography!! Ok, hmmm, getting a visual on that; pimped out old school Impala, lowered, 22" chrome rims, fuzzy dice, boom box pounding out gangsta rap - then again maybe not.

I like the sharpness of this image and the action you captured. I think you could crop out the third dog and possibly have a stronger image, could be worth trying? Thanks for sharing.

Gary,

One of the major problems with wildlife is the fact that from most open vehicles you are too high up, this did not use to be a problem when this particular concession used vehicles made by my good friends at Uri vehicles, Unfortunately following complaints from travel agents and guests these were replaced by the traditional high wide and definitely not handsome vehicles based on Toyota Landcruisers which meant you were at least a foot higher. The only alternative is being further way and using a long telephoto :toast:

Love the interaction in this Ken. I read the comments from Gary and your response. I know you are up higher, but honestly, for me, this image does not feel like it was shot at a high perspective. Granted, it doesn't fell low either, but it seems like a normal viewing angle and I think will to the average person who would buy it. I also think it intimacy is there for me...but really in the large version. It always seems images like these do not translate as well online and have much more impact in person. Nice work

Kurt,

Thanks for comments, in the good old days you used to be allowed on the ground with Wild Dogs, they are in my experience perfectly safe and most curious. Luckily you can still do this in Mana Pools Zimbabwe
