This fellow perched high on a maple tree, I went up on a balcony and caught him singing away. A young male that still has some yellow coloring.

Cropped to 45% of FF.

1/500s, f/8, ISO 1100.
600mm +TC 1.7X on D3X.

C&C appreciated.

Nice pose of this tanager. Good sharpness and colors. You might consider a tighter crop to reduce the amount of dark space in the URHC. Thanks for sharing.

Love the colour agree with the idea of a crop to remove dark top corner. :toast:

Very nice behavior capture and good techs. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to brighten it just a bit, being mindful not to blow the reds, to make it a bit less gloomy. I agree with John's suggestion of cropping to landscape to lose the dark upper right.

I like it as posted. Exposure looks good - the reds are under control. Colors look natural. The dark corner doesn't bother me.

John, Jim,

Thanks for your suggestions, here is a landscape crop and a bit of brightening (blowing out the red on the rump a bit).

Cheers,
Claude

Claude,
Amazing colours in this one, and a great pose. Glad to see the IQ held up in the tighter repost , although for me I think I prefer the OP :toast:
