Here is an image of a youngish Male tiger, son of the never to be forgotten B2. Unfortunately he and his brother were very naughty , killing too many cattle. They were shipped off to a zoo, I really cannot post what I think this says for Indian Wildlife conservation :frown:

Taken in Bandhavgargh, India
EOS 1D MkIV
500mm F4
F4
ISO 800
1/800
hand-held from open "vehicle"

Ken, this image is quite rich, in color, expression and story. Good work nicely done.

Very handsome tiger, so sad about the "conservation" methods :frown: I'm really captivated by the tiger's eyes in this tight portrait. I like the background, its a little bit busy perhaps but it hints at the habitat and works nicely with the tiger's patterns and colors. Thank you for posting this photo.

Ken,
This is an outstanding portrait, the detail, the rich color and the Tiger's expression are all wonderful. You may consider cropping in from the left to the whiskers. This would make this a true portrait and eliminate some of the BG that is not helping the image.
Well Done . . . :toast:

Thanks everybody for your comments which are much appreciated.

I really do not like "road" photos which in my experience the majority of Tiger images are. This pair were walking in the "jungle" and were quite close (15 metres), as for the crop I felt I did not have enough height to turn it into a vertical, I should have turned the camera  The background is I agree quite messy :

Nice portrait of a beautiful animal Ken.
Indian wildlife Conservation, now there's an oxymoron.

Perfect exposure, Ken, and a great look/expression. I agree background is not as clean as one would hope.
