At the Denver Botanic Gardens. I debated cloning out the small imperfections in the petals, and obviously decided to leave it "natural".

Nikon D600, Nikon 105 f2.8, 1/250 @ f8, ISO 100.

Wow!! Looks like flames from a furnace that blisters out from the center...great impact shot. Superb center details and colors. I like the centering ...symmetry... hhmmm... I think I would clone out the blemishes, personal preference. This is a winner!!

Russ: I love to shoot poppies like this and really like how you filled the frame and the edge to edge sharpness. Top notch shot. >=))>

Beautifully composed, Russell ! Love the rhythms of the petals as they swirl from the centre - a centre with is artfylly placed just a little off centre. Like Ken, I personally would like to see the little blemishes removed but this is lovely as is.

Very beautiful image! Excellent detail and colors. Sometimes I like cloning out the imperfections, but in this case I think they don't detract from the image.

Very nice Russell. I like the luminance of the flower. The texture in the petals is great. I think I would have tried to eliminate the imperfections, myself, but I can understand you leaving it natural.

A superb image in my book Russ. I like the POV, comp, color and detail of the center. After viewing the larger version I found the imperfections in the petals a distraction so I would remove them. However, I understand why you left them in the image and I am okay with that too. A side by side comparison would make the decision for me. Very nice work. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Russ:

Fabulous image with very strong color and radial symmetry. The wavy radiating lines of the petals are very captivating. I think I may be the only dissenting voice in wanting the center perfectly centered (to emphasize the radiating symmetry even more).
