Who's the Boss?

This series needs to come to an end, I know, but maybe one or two more? As I mentioned before, this was an extraordinary day and I took full advantage. For whatever reason, the mom and kits were out and active and they tolerated my presence. It hadn't happened before that day and never happened again. I only wish the light would have been better. I kept the lens wide open to get a reasonably fast shutter speed, so ISO was the only variable. This image is at 1100, and I have some up to 3200, all usable, but...

The variety of behavior seemed to run the full fox gamut. Here two kits wrestle for dominance.

Nikon D600, 70-200 f2.8 plus 2X TC, ISO 1100, 1/800 @f5.6

Wow! This is an amazing capture! I love it. Missed the rest of the series, but glad I caught the tail end.

Wonderful series on the fox kits and I enjoyed going back and looking at all the fox images. A really special moment, way to cool, excellent images showing how caring the mom was. Well done, a pleasure to view.

Again, fun interaction Russ. The thing I like even more about this one is the decision to leave in the tree on the left and not try to crop a closer view or take this a touch more to the right. I think the tree makes it even stronger because as a viewer, I feel like I am peaking into their world without them knowing. It makes the shot more intimate.

In this one I appreciate the triangular shape of their pose, which enhances composition.

This is adorable Russ! Well done on the entire series, the timing on this one is great. Tthe only nit on this one is the pesky trunk on the left but I think you handled it as best as you could.

Russell.

Must have missed this but I have no excuse for it. Another truly remarkable image the trunk on the left side does not really bother me :toast:

So very cute - you made the best of that one time that you were granted full permission by the foxes
Grt, Ingrid.
