This was probably my overall favorite image from my trip to white pocket. Thanks to Doug and Shane for showing me this area. I was just blown away by all the photographic possibilities in this location. We spent a good hour, maybe more working this area until heading back to camp for breakfast. I've been tinkering with a lot of variations from here, but ultimately this version won me over. Wondering if anything else could be done to improve it? As always comments and critiques appreciated. PLEASE CLICK LARGE VIEW FOR HIGHER QUALITY. There is so much detail in this shot that I was having lots of trouble keeping the file size appropriate.

That is pretty interesting Peter. The colors pop nice and look really good against the white parts. It is a little hard to tell what we are looking at. Is that a cave in the URC? Looks like it could be a very large one or a smaller pattern in the rock formation.

Thanks Walt, this is all sandstone that twisted and turned and I was able to position myself to close a gap of open space for a more abstract view. No caves here, at least I don't think so.

Interesting abstract. The most difficult part to this kind of image seems to be the crop that is selected, as small changes make a big difference to the feel of the shot. I like your choice, though maybe the top portion seems a little tight. A unique view from this area.

A great abstract! And the large version is a must. The increased detail in the large version adds so much impact.

Peter,

A lot going on here, but it all works very well together. Definitely abstract in the sense that it's quite a brain teaser in terms of trying to figure the layout and orientation, but in a pleasing and enjoyable way. The light/glow in the one section is wonderful as are the colors/sat in general.

Sure looks like a spot with unlimited possibilities. I need to get out there one day.

Love how you capitalized on the colors here. I know this spot well and I think it does justice to the whole area!

Thank you everyone! Without knowing the actual location and the other features in this area, it is really hard to grasp what is actually going on. I suppose that was the fun in this. I always like to try and make people think with my images. This may have been the best display of that so far for me.
