Red-bellied Woodpecker

I think this is the same woodpecker that was on the orange from last post. I like the over the shoulder look. The only down side is that his belly isn't visible. I pulled back the hot reds a bit. Still didn't get any water on the feathers. I'll have to try this again. I need to up the ISO and close down a bit more.

Beautiful in it's simplicity. Nice pose. Maybe lighten the eye a tad to make that catchlight more evident.

Excellent composition and pose, Jerry. I'm on my laptop so I'm not sure, but it looks like you might have pulled the reds back more than necessary.

Wonderful species and nice pose indeed. I think that I see some cloning residue on the left of your signature ? Cheers, Hans

Nice wp pose and excellent details. Comp is good...I'd like just a little more room on the left. I'd also remove the little white spot towards the center of the eye...the light is showing in the upper eye. Sharon

Thanks everyone. There must have been an offensive twig or something at the bottom of the frame that I changed into and offensive smudge. Good eyes, I didn't notice that. I've also removed the catchlight in the center of his eye. Don't know if I can add any canvas to the left but I'll try and maybe repost.

Thank you all again. Very constructive critiques that will keep me looking much closer at what I post.
