Nikon D300; Nikon 200-400 @ 400mm; f5 @ 1/400th; ISO 320;HH; 50% crop.

I waited a long time for this little gal to come out of the thick brush. My first decent shot of this species.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

Nice sharp capture of this warbler Tom, the BG really puts the bird in evidence. I tried to shoot one in the good old film days but it would react so fast to the mirror slap that all pictures were blurred. :toast:

As you say, a very tough bird to find in the open. Great use of the opportunity. Very nice detail and excellent background. An under-rated beauty in comparison to her flashy mate.

Good work with this opportunity. Clean and simple, good body position, nice soft colors.

She really made your wait worthwhile, even gave a nice headturn. Techs look excellent and has held up to the crop well.

She is a beauty and from the looks of this image I would say your long wait was worthwhile. I love the larger view, excellent pose and head turn with excellent colors and plumage detail. The perch and OOF BG only adds to the composition. Well done!
