A sow with twin cubs was feeding in Denali National Park, (one cub is out of frame) when the cub noticed the photographer. Taken with a Canon 20d, Sigma 50-500mm, tripod bogan, head, bogan. Would like any feedback on this image.

Dan,

I like the composition and the look on the cub's face, he's really trying to be fierce! The image looks a bit yellow on my monitor, almost like you shot in jpeg (instead of raw) with either the overcast or shady color correction turned on. I think a tad less yellow will make this one really nice.

Dan,

Great pose on this one, but it looks much to saturated, with a predominance of red and yellow. I would suggest trying to adjust the white balance as a good starting point.

Hello Dan

Interesting Little Guy, Full coats of fur! I think others have recommended a Colour/Tone fix & this would make an Impressive Image.

Time of Day could really affect the hues too, In Denali in summer time the Sun can be on the Horizon mostly and later times of day with that sweet golden tone but the camera/ photographer needs to adjust etc...

In addition to the needed color balance correction, I'd also suggest darkening the corners a bit.

Two nits...white balance. and the straw going through the mother's head. I would clone out the straw. On the bright side nice detail and facial expression on the little bear. :toast:

H Dan. I really like the active pose of "junior" and your naming of the image seems perfect. I agree that some post processing tweaks to tone down the warm/yellow tones will improve the overall presentation.

thank you all for the comments, I have re edited the photo and re-posted it. I think I need to fix my monitor, it doesn't look so yellow on mine. Thank you all again.

Love the expression on the youngster. Looks quite sharp at this small size. Denali sure has some nice colors in the landscape, although the light appears to be quite contrasty in this image.
