Cattle Egret in breeding plumage from a rookery near New Iberia, Louisiana. This image was captured last weekend on a bright overcast day providing a nice soft creamy light. I haven't been around much lately, but looking forward to sharing some of my work from this spring along the Gulf Coast.

Wonderful image, Randy. He gave you a nice pose and you captured the colors and detail nicely. Speaks well for the camera to get such a nice photo with 60% thrown away. Well done.

Love the color and detail Randy, but what I like best is the comp. How the leaves seem to frame him and open up behind him to still provide a clean BG. Nice shot.

Beautiful soft light Mike. Really like the way the bunches of leaves are at different distances

Sweet shot, Randy! Just curious, is this at Jefferson Island? I was there a few weeks ago and there were LOTS of Cattle egret and a good number of Roseates.

Thank you all for your kind comments - yes Bill, this is Jefferson Island, as you said the primary birds are Cattle Egrets but there are a fair number of Snowy Egret, Little Blue Herron and a good number of Roseate Spoonbills. It's a fun place to shoot, but can be tough to isolate clean shots - I was lucky on this one.
