One last shot of the male from the same session as the others. I had to post one with the gorget in full blaze. This is about as much head turn as I could get without starting to lose the flash of the gorget.

7D, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRs legs, f 9, 1/1000, Av mode with -1/3 compensation, iso 500. Processed in CS6 and cropped to 8 MP. Taken May 24th at 3:36 pm under cloudy skies.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Beautiful image, Dennis.

The BG is pretty good, the colors and details are excellent. I liked it! :toast:

Beautiful Dennis! Love the color, detail and think the exposure on this one looks better. Certainly don't mean to be a nit, but not sure about all the negative space on this one. Sometimes I like it, but it isn't working as well in this shot for me. I still love the shot either way...just think it might have more impact with a vertical crop.

A great look at the gorget and a nice smooth bg here Dennis, I don't know if this is a setup perch or not but if it is I would try to use one that isn't cut off at the end. :toast:

Lovely shot of the bird! A shame though that the perch has a broken off end showing.

Wow, what a fabulous colour on the gorget Dennis. Good and sharp too.
Background sets it off really well.

Nice shot, Dennis. Beautiful color on this guy, and the background looks good to me. The perch, is a perch..... the bird is fantastic.

You took full advantage of this great side light, it really lit-up that gorgeous gorget nicely (can I get away with that?)

Beautiful bird, excellent exposed. Congrats ! Only nit would be the abruptly cut-of branch, but that just minor since it's awesome what you show here :toast: :wavey: , Hans
