I am back from an amazing experience in Etosha.

I have too many images to work through and only 6 weeks to do so in order to make space on my drive for my next trip - Mana Pools.

This is one of the MAAAANY elephant images I captured last week.
I know some of you will ask how I got this perspective, so here it is:
I was in an underground bunker hide at a remote and private research waterhole.

Techs:
Nikon D3s
Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 @ 36mm
Kenko Pro CPL
f8.0 | 1/320 SS | ISO-400

I love the perspective on this shot, and a definitely suggest a horizontal flip on this one; it makes a huge difference.

Great perspective, really emphasizes the enormity of the elephant. There's quite a bit going on in the background, megafauna running in all directions, such is the "challenge" I guess in a land so rich in wildlife - wow, what an incredible place. Good use of the CPL and good work keeping the horizon level. Love the blue sky background.

Great perspective Morkel! The only thing I would wish for is to have that big bull Ellie standing alone with nothing but blue sky in the background. I think that would really emphasize how massive they are. Still, nicely done and I can't wait to see the rest of your Etosha photos.

Love it Morkel.
love the perspective and the colours.
Such a low viewpoint really does emphasise their size.

Morkel,
An underground hide, that is lucky for you. Is it at the place where they measure Elephants "talking" through their feet.
It certainly must be safer than Andy Rouse's method of laying under them
Being this low must certainly help in eliminating the reflections from the generally white stone backgrounds you get there.
I find the animals in the BG a little distracting, I am with Joseph on this one, if the Elephant was alone it would be better

The 'bunker' provides and excellent perspective/POV, a nice series of images to come back with. Be interesting to know how it compares with MD's location & workings, will drop you a line on that.

Talk soon.

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone.
I do have photos showing just an elephant, might post them later. I actually think the eles on the RHS add to the photo, as do the giraffes in the BG. There was so much activity at this waterhole and I liked trying to capture that in the BG.
