Vareid, Lofoten, Norway

A very quiet and tranquil view at twilight on Vareid's rocky beach. The tidal pools caught some interesting light and created some nice contrasts to the mountains and waning light in the sky. Taken on the 2013 Lofoten Transient Light Workshop

Pentax 67II
Pentax 55-100mm
1.5 HE Gradient and Polarizer
Fujichrome Velvia 50

Epson V750 scan using a betterscanning.com adjustable height film holder with ANR glass and Silverfast Ai8 scanning software

Well composed. The expanse of sky adds to the sense of cold isolation.

Eva,

Tranquil is indeed a great description here. It seems to me the mountains in this region are becoming familiar... YET, you continue to find new and such diverse foregrounds. this is yet another excellent landscape from your trip to Norway. I'm really enjoying the cool tones and you've processing this is a very natural and organic way. Great work with this one Eva.

Superb work, the foreground leads the eye nicely to the peaks.

I really like the composition and the color of this image. I am going to go against the flow because I think I would crop off about half the sky. Probably just my personal preferences.

Great comp with this foreground. I've seen a lot of Norway images lately since this became very popular among photogrpahers the last couple of years......this is among the best I've seen from this mountain range. I love the cool tones, the details and patterns in the foreground

I might have said this already Eva,... but this is my favorite of yor images from this locale. Wonderful color, light, composition, and all around exposure latitude too. Great work with the film again.

Nice shot Eva. :toast:

Maybe a crop off the top sky a little?

I really like it, Eva! The scenery and comp are both great. The pre dawn/post sunset twilight times are my favorite to be in. I love the big light and color of a powerful sunset too, but there's just something about the serenity of this time that I love.

Love the subtle tonalities in light and colour here. I'm not sold on the sky:land ratio either however. The composition is otherwise very compelling.

A most beautiful capture for me, Eva. The complementing elements in the foreground and distance work amazingly together for me. I also appreciate the interesting color transition in the lower half.
