Some may take issue with the lack of shadow detail, but i like what you have done here. I gravitate toward simple scenes, and this is one. Nice job.

Terrific image, Rick. Well composed to bring out the flats, and I like the color captured in the sky that punches up the landscape.

I really like how you placed the horizon on this one, Rick. The low skyline and golden glow from the sun works perfectly as a backdrop for this vast open salt flat area.

Rick,
I too like the horizon and the emphasis you gave to the salt flats. Interesting and effective showcasing of the Bonneville flats - it's flat! ;-) This is also unlike most Badwater and salt flat images from DV where the emphasis is on the salt patterns. here, vast and flat is the story. As far as the mountains go, they are small enough relative to the flats that the silhouette here works, I'm not interested in detail back there. Also, I always like seeing the sun on the brink of cresting. Nice job all the way around.

The gray and orange is an unusual and interesting combination. Great job communicating the feeling of this vast, flat space. How low to the ground was the camera positioned for this capture? I like the perspective. Nice work!
