Cascade Falls

I shot this last summer. This is one of several levels of these falls. It's just a small creek. I didn't have a tripod that day because I didn't own one yet. 1/80 sec is about as long as I dared hand hold.

This has so many textures and colors.

1/80, f9.0, iso 400, hand held, Single shot, raw in LR4
Canon 5D, 24-70 @ 54mm

All C&C welcomed. Nits are welcome.

Thanks,

Much better in the larger version. Brings out the colors better.

I like the variety of textures and colors you mentioned as well. A very pretty little spot and you've captured it's essence nicely

Brad,

This is a lovely little scene and you did well considering the no tripod thing... Personally, I think you could maybe drop the exposure a 1/2 stop or so; it's not overly bright and certainly not overexposed, but I think the colors and contrast might pop a lttle better if this was slightly darker.

I'm not sure if you access to this or planning on returning, but if that's an option this is a spot I would definitely return to. Try under some diffused light, perhaps a polarizer and a tripod so you can try slower shutter speeds. Great opportunities here.
