Rose between Two Thorns

These are the two drier inland finch species in Australia (Zebra Finch is the more common species of the two).
This was at the edge of a waterhole where the finches congregate to drink.
Alice Springs, April 2013. D800, 300 2.8, 1.7TC, f7.1, 1/500, ISO 800.
Thanks, Greg.

Oh for crying out loud! Not content with showing us one outrageously colourful bird at a time you have to give us three of them.
It's an awesome photo Greg, the colours really jump out and the detail is marvellous.

What is the other finch species?

Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry Martin, forgot to mention the other species - Painted Finch. I think they are two males - the individual on the left is a young bird just coloring up,
Cheers Greg

Very cool image. Love the way the two "thorns" are face the "rose" and that one of them has its' back turned to us. The perch is perfect for this as is the background. Excellent image.
