I am posting this in the Environmental PJ because of the story. This little guy was the 3rd turtle I saw on the highway while heading to a new lake to do some Bass fishing earlier this week...Work if you're reading this...I really was sick...sick of work...anyhow...The first two I found were unfortunately victims of careless humans in a rush to get somewhere. The second turtle was massive.. How you don't see that on the road always surprises me. I took the time, because I could and pulled over to help this little guy cross the highway. He then thanked me by posing for a quick snap. I hope next time you're out and can safely help. You'll do the same.

This reminds me of a news report I saw on TV recently. A reporter put a fake, but realistic looking turtle on a busy road. Within the first hour some of the cars, I think it was 6 of them, deliberately swerved out of their path to run over the turtle! Why would anyone do that?! It's so senseless and cruel!
I also want to warn people. I saw another news report about a man who got out of his car on a busy road to help a mama duck and her ducklings to get safely across the road. Unfortunately, he was struck by a car and killed! So if you get out of your car to help wildlife or for any reason please be careful!
