In what seems to be a battle of tiny creatures in PA, a chipmunk and what appears to be an insect (or is it simply a piece of bark???) on a grand tree trunk on the forest floor. D90, ISO400, 1/400th, f-7.1, 500mm. Thanks for any C&C!

It looks like a piece of bark to me Bill, maybe the chipmunk is trying to decide if it is something to eat, danger or just a chunk of wood! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bill, the harsh light and large crop don't do this much justice to be honest with you. If you have the option to shoot at 500mm then I would personally take more time to determine where the creatures like to hang out and then approach the situation again in better lighting conditions.

Nice head angle and low angle so you are on the right track and it doesn't take much more to add the final touches.

Keep it up

Thanks John and Jamie--I'm kind of with you on the wood John, but IDK. Shot from the vehicle window.
