Morning At Mt Barney Cre

Morning at Mt Barney Creek.

This one is from August last year, which was the first time I had hiked to this area of Mt Barney. I remember the creek was just so beautiful in the morning light that I ended up spending a few hours in this spot while the light was happening. It was a quiet beauty, a gentle flow of the creek through the rocks with only bird song on the air. A few rock wallabies and koalas around too, which made the experience all the better.

Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions, cheers.

Just a beautiful image, David. I especially like how the foreground boulders lead you into the scene. Nice color and contrast.

David,

This sure looks like a fantastic location and I think you've captured it very well. I really like the composition and flow. for me though, I think the color/contrast/sat is pretty strong here. Of course we are all free to use our own creative license, but at least for me, it's a little un-natural. Actually, not off by all that much, but a couple areas that make me think this way. One, there's a small boulder just right of center near midline, that is pretty much purple. Then the light hitting the large boulder on the left middle is pretty warmly saturated.

I do like the water as it appears pretty neutral and I even like the highlighted water at the bottom.

I do like this quite a lot actually, just think the sat and perhaps even contrast is a bit strong. But to each our own.

The contrast is a little high like Lon has mentioned Dave but I think it suits the image. It sure does look a beautiful spot and can see why you spent a couple of hours there. I think you've nailed the composition as my eye enjoys wandering gently through the shot.

Good to see you posting again Dave.

Cheers, Gary.

David,

Beautifully composed and shot. I agree with Lon about the saturation being a bit too much. The light in the trees is awesome. I wish I could see into the water in the bottom though. That highlight is too strong IMO.
