Palouse sunset

This is a second post from our recent trip to The Palouse. These image was taken the evening before my previous post (Palouse Barn). After a great day with Chip Phillips, we spent another six memorable days just driving the back roads of The Palouse. On a gravel road about 20 minutes south of Pullman one evening, the late sun began to light up the hills in the distance. We pulled to the side of the road and spent about 90 minutes watching and photographing this beautiful scene. No other people. No cars went by. Just the two of us. Perfect way to spend your anniversary.

This particular image is a 4 (maybe 5) shot pano. I'm curious whether folks think the small details (trees) are too distant to make this image effective. Maybe it just needs to be printed large. I also have individual images where the hills are a bit closer. As always, C&C appreciated. Large image included.

D700, 4-5 shots stitched in Photoshop, 24-120 @ 100mm, f/8, 1/10 sec

I like this as is. For me, it's all about those lovely rolling hills and changing colors. The trees being small gives perspective to how big this all is. Nice balance, and yes, this would look nice printed large. I'm on a poor monitor right now, so some of the clouds look a bit hot, but I like the color and contrast throughout the clouds. Nice one!

A good mix of rolling cloud. More continuity in the light clouds would have really made this for me. Or perhaps more foreground? It is nice as captured. :toast:
