Flying Clouds

My wife took me camping to Veedauwoo between Cheyenne and Laramie, WY. It is a very popular place for climbers. The wild flowers were in full bloom. It is about 8,000 feet and in the afternoon the big cumulus clouds would move through. This cloud looked like it was taking off out of the rocks. This is a b&w conversion, but I also included the color and would like to get your opinion between the two. This is a three image pano and then cropped to about 75%. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

A pretty basic scene, but the thunderhead takes it to another level. Nice conversion and the detail in the clouds is excellent. Very well done.

A very nice image, Richard. The cloud and the sort of reverse mirroring of the forms of rock and sky are great. I do prefer the BW image. Well done. Chet

Great sky and perfect for black and white :wavey:
Shadow detail is a small nit in left portion. Well seen.

Good idea to convert. I like the B&W. You might consider adding a little contrast, maybe bringing up the midtones in the foreground on the B&W?

Richard,

Awesome sky and cloud! I agree with Chet regarding how the sky somewhat mirrors the landscape. The b&w conversion was a good choice and I also agree with Harley that this could use some additional contrast. The sky and cloud where the sky could be slightly blacker and some additional contrast in the cloud itself, but that's minor. Actually, I think the contrast level in the color version is good. Also agree you could bring up the midtones in the landscape, especially on the left as Rick mentions.

This is a great panoramic and I think with a few processing tweaks, this could be very nice.

Looks like a volcanic eruption! Very nice of the clouds to place themselves so well for the shot.

I like the B&W version a tad bit better. Love the sweep of the clouds on the ls.
