Lesser Earless Lizard

This Palo duro Canyon, Texas resident Lesser Earless Lizard gave me a look of disdain on my walk by his wooden perch. Four hours later on my return he was still there.
The deep red desert floor made a good background.

Hi Rick. I love seeing these different species of lizard posted here. This one has some very subtle and interesting colors and patterns. With the long tail of lizards I can understand the difficulty in deciding how to frame them. Ideally it would be nice to see the entire tail, but I appreciate the challenge. Had the tail curled in front of the wooden perch problem solved. Might reduce the amount of oof foreground (by about 50%) and add to the top if you have it available?

The gorgeous rich background sets the lizard off very well Rick. 2 minor niggles: The sharpest focus seems to be on the lizard's midriff rather than its head and there is a bit too much of the 'tree in shadow' at bottom left. I feel if you could lose a bit of that and open up a bit at the top the composition would be stronger.
