Brown Thrasher

I usually only see these birds as they fly for cover! I captured this while trying to lure out some yellow warblers at a location near our cabin in Sullivan Co., PA. The Brown Thrasher was very interested in what was happening in it's neighborhood! I first saw him during mid-day and the light was too harsh, so I went back in the late afternoon in hopes he would show up.

Like the way you managed to have the dark background behind the thrasher. The foliage is interesting and frames the bird perfectly as well. I like the loose composition a lot, the sort of image I strive for but rarely get.

Nicely composed. I too like the framing of the bird by the branches and the smooth BG. I also like that the tail shows up through a gap in the foliage. It was well worth going back to take advantage of the softer light.

I've had only one instance where I caught this guy out in the open a couple of years ago, they're very cool birds.
I might have shot it a bit faster if possible?
Well composed, nice setting - Great catch Sharon :toast:
