This image was made late in the day near The Twelve Apostles. A collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

Thanks for looking and any comments welcome.

A very nice seascape Dennis, i like the contrast & light of this image, but i i would like to see more light on the bottom left corner it seems under exposed and make the scene unnatural to my eye IMO

good work

Nice shot Dennis. I like the rich contrasting colours and clarity of light and detail. The vignetting seems a little strong, and I thought it might lift the image further without it. I agree with Hamed re the bottom left corner is rather dark, but also there is fade-off in the top left and the other corners slightly. I guess that's just personal preference. Not a big deal really, but just my tastes. Lovely shot, and I really do like the strong red/blue contrasts.

I too think it is a fine composition. For me and my nits, it's the saturation - way too much for my taste. I also believe that the vignetting applied is too strong at the bottom. The blues and oranges make a nice tonal contrast, but not to the point of being garish.

That saturation is a bit too much for my taste. Comp wise the cliffs need a bit more room in upper left frame. A little tweek here and there and you have a wall hanger to be proud of. :toast:

Nice one Dennis. I'm OK with the processing, seems rather Velvia like. When did you shoot this?

Terrific long view of the Apostles. The details are great and I like your comp., but it does feel over saturated to me.

Love the clarity, comp, subject, light, etc... I sort of like the vignetting, personally, but I do feel the sat. could come down a tad and still have this be a stunning image. Thanks for including the large version!

I have dropped the overall saturation back plus the intensity of blue water. There has not been any vignetting applied to the image. This is a natural effect caused by the fading light from behind. Also the strongest light is centered on the brightest part of the water and cliffs. To answer Kah Kit. This image was shot south of the viewing area, where the road is closest to the cliffs. There is a gravel road, entrance to a property approximately adjacent.
I scouted the cliffs the evening before to find a different angle on a very popular subject.

No I meant when not where Dennis. Seems to be an extra Apostle compared to the last time I was here.

Sorry Kah Kit, October 2008 is the right answer. I'm pretty sure there isn't any extras.

Dennis,

Just back off the saturation a bit and you've got a fine photo.

Dennis,

Great view and a lovely coastal seascape. I might agree that the LL area is a bit dark, but actually I'm really enjoying the quality of light there.

Agree with the others, the saturation a bit strong for my taste, but certainly a personal choice and vision.
