Torture

I had to stop and take this when I saw this large tree in what seemed to be in a pose signifying it's torture from the fire in the Black Forest area near Colorado Springs. Two people lost their lives and over 500 homes were lost and nearly 30 more damaged. This group of trees was along the northern boundary of the fire. Obviously more than just the tree was tortured.

Large version is included.

I like the idea but would like to see a bit more foreground to anchor the capture. :toast:

Wickedly cool Morris. It appears that you pushed the detail extraction pretty high to achieve this effect and I really like the results. Quite interesting and unique. Fascinating! :toast:

Thanks, Rick. Unfortunately they are widening the road here, so the area below was grossly unattractive.

Thanks, John. I did pull out quite a bit of detail in Viveza to get the effect.

I too like the effect emphasizing the bark and contrast amongst the trees. The curvy tree really is a stand out.

A well presented view of what has happened in this beautiful area. It may be nature's way of re-generating an area, but the beauty of this area had a place in my heart. A sad deal for sure.
