Reflection Lake

Usually Mt. Rainier stands above this lake admiring its own reflection there. This day brought quite a different mood! It was a "showery" day, and I happened along here just as a good shower burst forth.

D700, 105, handheld inside car through open window; f11, 1/30, ISO 400, -0.33 EV. Tried many versions of processing, and this is closest to the way I saw it on site -- almost straight out of the camera, with a light hand in NIK Viveza.

Hope you enjoy.

I like this a lot, It has a spooky serene feel to it one that makes me wanna grab a cup of hot chocolate. It kinda made me forget I'm in California and its over a 100 out right now great job

There is a nice, peaceful and moody quality about this image. I like the evenness of tone and the cool blues and then there is the mist that adds a lot. Well done. Chet

Very nice feel to this one. The composition is very strong and your eye is nicely pulled through the scene.

Has a lovely, painterly feel to it. The cool, blue-green color palette adds to the mood.

Catherine,

There is a great sense of a very chilly (bone-chilling cold) WINDY and blustery, early winter conditions. That mist may be gently blowing in, but to me it looks more like blowing snow. These may not have been the conditions, although not getting out the car is a little hint... but it's what I see. Terrific atmosphere and sense of place, being there. Processing looks great, whatever little was done.

Might just be me, but I do think this has a slight CW? maybe not.

Superb- very moody and mysterious. It's an impressive image even if you weren't hanging out the car window.
